BURTON BRADSTOCK CORONAVIRUS SUPPORT

updated 29th May

Welcome to the latest Bulletin from the Village Society, Online Group and Parish Council.

When we decided to start regular Bulletins, we felt it would be helpful to inform villagers of sources of help and changes to life that might affect us.  Since then there has been plenty to share and indeed the flow of information continues.  We are aware as lockdown eases, so may the amount of news reduce and when that occurs so will the frequency of Updates.

The helpline and helpline email address will continue with our volunteers ready and willing;

Burton Bradstock Helpline: 07425 412105 or email burtonbradstockvillagehelp@gmail.com

ST MARY'S CHURCH

The Church, with 12th Century origins, lies at the heart of the village and the chiming of the clock and the ringing of the bells remind everyone of its existence. A welcoming place for all to visit.

VILLAGE SCHOOL

The School, recently rated 'Good' by Ofsted (2019), has occupied an important place in the heart of the Village since 1865 and extensively rebuilt in 1992.

COMMUNITY LIBRARY

The Library is run and managed by “Friends of Burton Bradstock Library” volunteers, with support from Dorset Council.  Our library is located by the village green and is a friendly place to visit.

VILLAGE

HALL

Owned by the WI, the hall is run by the Village Hall Trust Committee who are responsible for its upkeep, financial probity and day to day management. The vast majority of events in the Village take place in the Village Hall which can be rented for a small fee subject to availability.

VILLAGE

SOCIETY

With over 280 members the Burton Bradstock Village Society is one of the best ways to meet people.

Usually, at this time of year, we would be enjoying Monthly Talks and looking forward to the Annual Outing and Flower and Produce Show.  Sadly, this is not the case just now.  We hope normal service will resume before too long.
